Postdoctoral Researcher
I am a biologist interested in personalized and regenerative medicine. During my career, I studied – using in vitro and in vivo models – the mechanism that leads the acquired resistance to tyrosine kinase inhibitors in epithelial tumors.
Moreover, I investigated – using 3D in vitro approaches – the commitment between the immune system compartment and tumor microenvironment to generate personalized disease models useful to test and predict drug treatment responses. Currently, within the group, I am focused on developing in vitro pre-vascularized 3D skeletal muscle models, able to be implanted in vivo to regenerate skeletal muscle defects, using 3D wet spinning technologies coupled with microfluidic approaches.
