I am a biologist with a deep interest in cell biology, particularly in the mechanisms underlying growth and communication between cells in complex biological systems. I have developed my interests and skills at Utrecht University (Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences) and later during my recently completed Ph.D. at Nencki Institute, PAS. My previous work focused on the molecular basis of growth and development of neuronal dendritic trees and related morphological and behavioral impairments in in vitro and in vivo models.
Currently, within the group, I am focused on the development of 3D vascular models using microfluidics and lab on chip technologies. The work is done in collaboration with The National Institute of Molecular Genetics in Milan ( Roberto Rizzi group).
